Directions

  1. 1.Discuss what a routine is and why routines help us.
  2. 2.Sequence the morning routine pictures in the correct order.
  3. 3.Create a personal routine chart for one part of your day.
  4. 4.Practice following the routine for one week and check off each step.
  5. 5.Reflect: "Which step is hardest to remember? How can we make it easier?"

Parent Teaching Tip

Routines are most effective when children help create them. A child who helped design their morning routine is far more likely to follow it than one who was handed a list. Use this activity as a collaborative planning session.
