Materials Needed

  • •Printed workbook pages
  • •Pencil
  • •Optional: counting objects (blocks, beans, coins)

Directions

  1. 1.Work through one or two pages per session — do not rush through the whole workbook.
  2. 2.For ten-frame pages, use physical objects to fill the frames before drawing.
  3. 3.On number line pages, have your child point to each number while counting aloud.
  4. 4.For tracing pages, say the number name as your child traces it.
  5. 5.Review completed pages the following day before starting new ones.

Parent Teaching Tip

Always connect the numeral to a quantity. When your child writes "7," immediately ask them to show you 7 objects. This numeral-quantity link is the core of number sense.
